Sonoff Zigbee Smart Water Leak Sensor

The SONOFF SNZB-05P is a compact Zigbee water leak sensor designed for installers who need a simple and reliable way to help customers detect leaks before they become costly damage. It is suitable for smart home, rental, apartment, office and light commercial projects where water leakage risk needs to be monitored in areas such as laundries, bathrooms, kitchens, under-sink cabinets, hot water systems, sump pump areas, plant rooms, basements, wine cellars and equipment cupboards.

Using Zigbee 3.0, the SNZB-05P connects to compatible Zigbee gateways and smart home platforms. Once paired, it can send instant app alerts, trigger a Zigbee gateway sound alarm, and activate smart scenes when water is detected. SONOFF also notes that local Zigbee scenes can continue triggering alarms through the gateway even if Wi-Fi is offline, making it a useful option for more reliable leak alerting in practical installations. 

The sensor is designed to detect small amounts of water quickly. SONOFF specifies detection from liquid levels as low as 0.5mm, using elevated probes and a concave collection design to help identify leaks and drips. Gold-plated probes improve corrosion resistance, which is useful in humid or leak-prone environments where long-term reliability matters. 

For larger or harder-to-monitor areas, the SNZB-05P supports optional water leak detection cables. These can be used to extend the detection area around appliances, under cabinets, along pipework, near water heaters or across larger floor areas. SONOFF states the detection cables can be daisy chained with no total length limit, giving installers more flexibility when covering wider or irregular spaces. 

The SNZB-05P is powered by a CR2477 battery and is rated for up to 5 years of battery life under SONOFF’s stated conditions. It has an IP67-rated casing, 48 × 48 × 21.6mm dimensions, 0–100% RH working humidity and a working temperature range of -10°C to 60°C, making it a compact, low-maintenance sensor for damp or leak-prone indoor locations. 

For trade customers, the SNZB-05P is a strong add-on product because it solves a clear customer problem: early warning of water leaks.
