Sonoff Zigbee Smart Motion Sensor

The SONOFF SNZB-03P is a compact Zigbee motion sensor designed for installers who need a simple and reliable way to trigger automations based on movement. It uses passive infrared sensing technology to detect motion from people or moving heat sources, making it useful for smart lighting, security alerts, camera triggers, occupancy-style automation and energy-saving control in residential and light commercial projects.

Using Zigbee 3.0, the SNZB-03P connects to compatible Zigbee gateways and smart home platforms. It can be used with SONOFF Zigbee hubs such as NSPanel Pro, iHost, ZB Bridge Pro and ZBDongle-E, as well as supported third-party Zigbee systems. SONOFF also notes that it can be added to Home Assistant through ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT when used with a compatible Zigbee dongle. 

For trade customers, the SNZB-03P is a useful add-on for practical automation outcomes customers can easily understand. It can turn lights on when someone enters a hallway, bathroom, pantry, robe, garage or stairwell, trigger cameras or alarms when motion is detected, or send push notifications for movement in selected areas. It also supports local Zigbee smart scenes through compatible SONOFF gateways, allowing automations to continue operating even if Wi-Fi is offline. 

The built-in ambient light detection allows automations to respond more intelligently. For example, lights can be set to turn on only when motion is detected and the room is dim, rather than switching on unnecessarily during the day. This makes the SNZB-03P useful for energy-saving lighting control and more refined customer-friendly automation setups. 

The sensor has a detection range of approximately 6 metres with a 110° detection angle, making it suitable for common indoor areas such as corridors, entrances, bathrooms, cupboards, offices and stairways. It is powered by a CR2477 battery and is rated by SONOFF for over 3 years of battery life under internal test conditions. Flexible installation options include placing it on a desk or shelf, attaching it to a metal surface using the magnetic base, mounting with 3M adhesive, or screw-fixing the base to a wall. 

For installers standardising around Zigbee-based smart home systems, the SNZB-03P is a strong upsell product because it adds useful motion data to the wider automation setup without requiring new wiring. It is simple to position, easy for customers to understand, and suitable for creating practical automations that improve convenience, energy efficiency and security awareness.
