Sonoff Zigbee Smart Human Presence Sensor

The SONOFF SNZB-06P is a Zigbee human presence sensor designed for installers who need more advanced occupancy detection than a standard motion sensor. Instead of only detecting movement, the SNZB-06P uses 5.8GHz microwave radar to detect both moving and stationary people, allowing automations to respond more naturally when someone remains in a room. This makes it especially useful for lighting, comfort and energy-saving automations in bedrooms, bathrooms, home offices, living rooms, meeting rooms and light commercial spaces. 

For trade customers, the SNZB-06P is a strong add-on for smart lighting installations where customers want lights to remain on while a space is occupied, rather than switching off when movement stops. Typical use cases include keeping bathroom lights on during a shower or bath, keeping office lights on while someone is seated at a desk, or maintaining living room lighting while someone is watching TV or reading. SONOFF describes the sensor as able to turn lights on when someone approaches and keep them on until they leave. 

The built-in ambient light sensor allows automations to be more energy efficient by only triggering lights when presence is detected in low-light conditions. This helps avoid unnecessary daytime switching and gives installers a more practical way to build customer-friendly lighting scenes. The sensor also supports three sensitivity levels, with detection distance up to approximately 4 metres, helping installers tune the device for different room sizes and layouts. 

Using Zigbee 3.0, the SNZB-06P connects to compatible Zigbee gateways and platforms, including SONOFF NSPanel Pro, iHost, ZB Bridge Pro, ZBDongle-E and selected third-party Zigbee hubs. SONOFF also highlights Home Assistant support through ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, making it a useful option for installers standardising around open smart home platforms. Local Zigbee scene control is also supported with compatible gateways, allowing linked Zigbee automations to continue operating even without internet connectivity. 

The SNZB-06P is USB-C powered rather than battery powered, which makes it suitable for installations where constant presence detection is required without regular battery maintenance. For trade customers, this makes it a practical sensor for permanent occupancy-based automation, especially in areas where customers expect lighting and comfort automations to behave reliably throughout the day.
