Sonoff Matter over WiFi Smart Relay Switch

The SONOFF MINIR4M is a compact in-wall smart switch module designed for installers who need to add smart control while keeping the customer’s existing wall switch and wall plate. Its ultra-compact design makes it suitable for retrofit installations in many standard electrical mounting boxes, making it a practical option for smart lighting upgrades, renovations, apartments, new builds and light commercial automation projects.

As a Matter over Wi-Fi device, the MINIR4M can integrate with major Matter-compatible ecosystems including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and other Matter-enabled platforms. This gives trade customers a more flexible smart switching option that can suit different customer preferences without locking the installation into a single app ecosystem. SONOFF describes the MINIR4M as a Matter-certified smart switch with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, app and voice control, local Matter communication and support for major Matter ecosystems. 

The MINIR4M supports a 100–240V AC supply and is rated for up to 10A maximum resistive load. It uses live-neutral wiring and supports multiple external switch types, including momentary, SPDT/two-way and latching switches. This gives installers more flexibility when upgrading existing switch points while preserving familiar physical wall-switch operation for the customer. 

For more advanced smart lighting setups, the MINIR4M also includes detach relay mode. This separates the external switch input from the relay output, allowing the wall switch to be used for automation or scene control without necessarily cutting power to the connected device. This can be useful in smart lighting projects where constant power to smart lamps or other connected devices is preferred.
